Shahin Haghjou

Education: BA in Graphic Design from Instituto Europeo di Design, Barcelona, Spain

About: Shahin is an art director and graphic designer born in Iran, raised in Sweden, and educated in Spain. After gaining valuable experience at Vasava Studio in Barcelona, he recently returned to Sweden and is now working for Spotify in Stockholm. He has also been a member of AIGA, the professional association for design.

Cultural Influences: Skateboarding has been a consistent thread throughout Shahin’s life. As a teenager, he recreated and reimagined pro skateboarding graphics, which led to experimenting with Microsoft Paint and Photoshop. Skateboarding culture has always been rich with talented artists. His influences also extend to film, music videos, ’70s sci-fi, and fine art.

Projects: Shahin had complete creative freedom on two Yorokobu magazine projects—both a blessing and a challenge when working with clients. Looking back, he feels proud that those projects still hold up, even years later.
