Maryam Khosrovani, born in Tehran in 1981, is an Iranian conceptual artist and educator. Her research-driven projects, often in mixed media and installations, explore contemporary social issues shaped by her multicultural upbringing.
In 2011, Maryam earned a master’s degree in Art Direction and Graphic Design from ESAG Penninghen of Julien Academie in Paris. She has worked with renowned graphic designers like Reza Abedini, SARL LM Communiquer, and Michel Bouvet in Tehran and Paris. Collaborating with prominent theater directors, musicians, and academics worldwide has further enriched her career.
Her debut solo exhibition, Incubus, Succubus, Pendulus: The Secret Rules of Gravity, held at Aun Gallery in Tehran, garnered widespread acclaim. Over her career, Maryam has showcased her work in prestigious venues, including Elga Wimmer and Rogue Space Chelsea in New York, Somerset House Photo in London (with Roya Khadjavi Projects), Hamzianpour & Kia Gallery in Los Angeles, and La Nuit Blanche in Paris. Her work has been featured by BBC News, The New York Times, and The Guardian.
In June 2024, Maryam received the Fondation François Schneider | Talents Contemporains 13ème Édition award. As a fine art instructor, she has collaborated with organizations such as the International Rescue Committee, Rockefeller University’s Child and Family Center, Pardis for Children School in New York, École Française in Iran, and the Game Development Institute. She currently divides her time between Paris and New York.
