Iranian Graphic Designers Network (IGDN)
Overview
The Iranian Graphic Designers Network (IGDN) was founded in 2000 by Pouya Golestaneh in Tehran. It began as one of the first professional graphic design networks in Iran, emerging during a period when the internet was still a novel platform in the country. IGDN’s mission was to build a creative community centered on passion, collaboration, and innovation.
Achievements
Origins
The network’s journey started with a Yahoo Group called “Artistiran,” which rapidly grew into a vibrant online community with over 1,200 designers. This platform became a hub for sharing ideas, designs, and advertisements, laying the foundation for IGDN’s evolution.
Focus on Innovation
IGDN offered resources on topics such as color management systems, book publishing, and the latest technological advancements. It played a key role in supporting Apple enthusiasts under the brand “Iran Macintosh,” promoting iOS adoption and publishing the first Farsi-language book about the iPhone.
Global Recognition
IGDN’s global collaborations include partnerships with international design organizations in China, Russia, Mexico, and beyond. The network is a member of Icograda and has participated in numerous global exhibitions, competitions, and festivals.
